The exhibition brings our national memory to life and tells a rich and remarkable story about our history, our nation, our treasures … and our libraries. Discover priceless treasures that have shaped our nation from the magnificent collections of Australia’s National, State and Territory libraries at this major national travelling exhibition. National treasures including bushranger Ned Kelly’s helmet, cricket legend Sir Donald Bradman’s bat, and Captain James Cook’s journals will be on display.

Explore depictions of Tasmania, our island on the edge of the world, where every inch of every map tells a story. This beautiful exhibition invites you to ponder the mapping of Tasmania and asks is what you see Myth or reality? Art or science? Boundary or connection?

ELOQUENT OBJECTS
TASMANIAN MUSEUM AND ART GALLERY, DECORATIVE ARTS GALLERY

The most significant donation of Chinese art and antiquities ever presented to the Tasmanian Museum and Art Gallery. The collection comprises more than 250 individual items from the Neolithic period through to the twentieth century. Professor Shiu Hon and Mrs. Nancy Wong’s donation is an excellent representation of Chinese culture and artistic endeavour.
